Trestle Projects is pleased to announce its second exhibition for 2017, New Fine Art. This exhibition presents a small sampling of Brooklyn based artists whose practices are centered around traditional fine art materials. Through mimicry, remediation, and unconventional applications, these artists push the limits of their materials and explore a corresponding sensuality. By employing a range of responsive processes, each artist engages in an unfolding dialogue between the self and the material – a transference between hand, form, and thought. In this way, the artists in New Fine Art see their processes as both a method of inquiry to explore physical materiality as well as tools to realize unconscious and psychic visions.
